Current View of Technology in the Classroom
Before taking this class I viewed technology as a necessity for the classroom, but something that might not be used very much in the classroom. I now realize more reasons for the importance of technology in the classroom and why bringing technology in the classroom is a great thing.
There are many ways to include technology in the classroom. Internet is a great way also there are some really cool programs that I hope to get too used in my classroom someday. KidPix and Kidspiration are really neat; I really enjoyed working with those programs this semester.
It seems like students are learning more and more about technology at an earlier age. The students need to learn the software the right way from teachers who are trained if they want the students to really learn.
Technology is changing and so will the standards, as teachers we are to change and learn along the way. A teacher’s job is to be always learning. I do see my view on Technology in the classroom changing, I accepted it more for a positive thing for the classroom.

Non-Computer Tech Use in Classroom
CD player and a DVD player ia a great non-computer tech that is used in the classroom.I think that these techs might get used just as much as the computer well at least the CD player.
The reason why this is suck a great tool is that students can read along with a book at a quite center. Also they can listen to music at the music center. Students can spend some time to themsevels at a center with using a CD player and headphones. TEacher can also use the CD player to teach children the states by sing a song from a tape/CD.
A DVD player or a tape player can allow students to sing to a song from reading the words at the bottom of the screen. Some lessons are on DVDs for example there is a DVD that teaches children how to speak in spanish, what a great way to teach children. (books on tape/CD can do that too)

After presenting on my topic and and listening to various ERIC research projects I have learned a lot of new things about technology in and out of the classroom. I'm a hands on type of learner, and I would rather not use a computer if i did not have to but after listening to some of the various ERIC research projects. I would have to say that I would not mind using some of the technology.
One concern that i still have is the interent safety having students online is a hurge risk and the younger the student, more mistakes. I say that because they dont have the experiences, as the older students. Im sure they are coming up with more safety tips for students and techers.
e-portfolio is one topic that I really think is a great thing for students and teachers. The group that talked about e-portfolios did a great job! I really understand the e-portfoloios and would like to bring that into my furture class.

The website that I found was for teachers and students in a elementary classroom.
This website brings Elementary school technology education resources into the classroom. The site had two links that went for teachers and students. In the teacher site there was four different sites that teacher could go to help them become a better teacher and to assist the teacher with technology. There was Interactive website, informational links, other school programs, and additional resources. The student’s page had the first three mentions. This is a really great site and very informational.
Due to difficulties, some reason my link does not appear. This was the site that I tried to link:

Five Little Monkeys
This video is perfect to sing with your preschools, I think that having a visual aide when singing some songs gets the children to pay more attention and participate. This song would get any child wanting to sing and move. Having this option would be great when students get to sing in class rather then just singing to a CD.

Now that i have made it half way, i feel that the pressure on the school work is still. So nothing has really changed there. I do tihnk that its good to have technology in the classroom, but the school should not forget how things used to be done. The most important lesson that i learned so far is how to work/bring spreadsheet into the classroom and make a lesson out of it.

Internet Use in Elementary Classroom
Having the internet in the classroom is very beneficial for the students and the teacher. I also think that using text books are just as good, i think think that the internet is a bonus. Internet I feel is there to teach the students as well but more on a personal level for the students. For example, little bobbie can use the interent to expand his findings were little joe is using the internet for a different reason. He is using the interent as a get to know process because he at a different level then Bobbie.
Pos and Cons
Pos- expand research, help students with typing skills, and get the children learnig about the internet in a safe way.
cons- there will be children in the classroom that are going to need extra help which is just fine but how to you help those children as well as teach the others, because computers are not easy to teach.

All Kindergartners need to know
This article was very interesting, when reading I notice that I kept relating the changes to Ohio. Ohio has very high standards. I feel that Ohio standards are going to be looked at among all. I thought at first I was reading Ohio’s new changes yet I was not. A lot of what the state mandated in Illinois is mandated in Ohio.
I think its great idea that they are expecting the children to know more. Honesty I sometimes think that the states are pushing children to fair and they want them to grow up too fast. Not all children learn as fast and that will change how much a teacher can get done. I like the idea of being able to have them writing letters they should, but the state needs to know that some children can not go as quickly as others on some concepts.
I really like the specific goals for the children it is just going to take longer for some children then others. Children need tons of examples and teachers should always be learning so see how they can challenge their students or adapted for other students.

Image-based lesson

My lesson would be based for pre-k. This lesson would help my students to learn more about land and water. The students will learn what kinds of animals live on the land and in the water. In the pictures I put a couple of animals as starters to where the animals live. As a class we could make a list of what animals live where. The children could paint, draw, or write the names of the animals that live in the water or on the land.

Gardner’s multiple intelligence theory- Gardner thought of intelligence as a way to solve problems. He also styled things that people valued. He also created the seven now eight intelligences that defines a person intelligence. He puts every person in a category. With any of the eight intelligence, you could use technology. In the writing he does not mention using technology.
Bloom’s taxonomy- there are three types of learning-Cognitive: Knowledge. Affective: attitude- Psychomotor: manual or physical skills. These thee types are three ways that students learn. When using these three types of learning, there is a lot you can use with technology. Integration happens in the classroom.
Dale’s cone of experience- I have never herd of this before. When I look at it I was surprise that reading was on the top of his list. Only 10 %. The real thing and experience was the best thing on his list. This is one that I like a lot. Experience is the key. Best learning for you. Which you can integrate for learning when you put the children on the computer and let them learn.
I do not have the slide show to relate to the type 1, 2, 3. I could not open it up at home. So when you response please add that. Thanks!!

Introduction
My name is Kelly, I'm 22 years old. I have a wonderful husband named Eric and a turtle named Floppy. Floppy is our pet. I'm from Walbridge,Ohio. Currently living in Perrysburg. I love sports. I played college basketball at Owens for two years. In my two years there I received a Associate of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education. I'm currently working on my 4 year degree here at BGSU. I really like to hang out with my family and friends.I'm taking this class because we have to. I'm hoping to learn more about computers and to be able to come up with ways to use computers in the classroom. I would also like to learn more about the imoive. My thoughts at this point about technology is that its a great idea. I think that a lot of schools get the computers and want the students to use them but the school does not get a teacher in there to teach them (in some cases). Technology changes so much that the teachers that teach might not know how to use the new technology.
